UK-Based Brick Cleaning Company

Having worked with many organisations across the UK, helping them to restore their brickwork, we understand the complexities of working with brick surfaces. It’s essential that when you clean brick or any masonry that you do not harm the substrate material by using incorrect products or equipment. Hiring a professional brick cleaning company, like APT will help to ensure that your brickwork is cleaned, whilst avoiding damage. Using a non-professional, inexperienced brick cleaning company could be hugely costly if the wrong cleaning process and cleaning products are used.

At APT, we prioritise using specialist and tried and tested methods to clean brick. As a professional brick cleaning company, we use soda blasting and super-heated steam cleaning for over 30 years to restore building facades, walls, floors and ceilings. We have worked with conservation architects throughout the UK.

Soda Blasting

Soda blasting is a cleaning method that involves using compressed air to propel sodium bicarbonate particles, commonly known as baking soda, onto a surface to remove contaminants or coatings. The process is similar to sandblasting, but instead of using abrasive materials that can damage the surface, soda blasting uses a softer material that is gentle enough not to harm it. Soda blasting is also eco-friendly and doesn’t produce harmful dust or residues like other abrasive cleaning methods.

Soda blasting can be used to clean a variety of surfaces, including wood, metal, brick, concrete, and more. It is particularly useful for removing paint, rust, and other stubborn stains, as well as cleaning delicate surfaces like automotive and aircraft parts, sculptures, and monuments. It’s also non-toxic and non-flammable, making it a safe option for many cleaning applications.

We have been using soda blasting to clean brick for many years as it is a tried and tested method that cleans brick perfectly, without causing damage. This is one of the UK’s most trusted brick cleaning company’s methods for cleaning brickwork.

Super-Heated Steam Cleaning

Super heated steam cleaning is a powerful and effective cleaning method that uses high-temperature steam to remove dirt, grime, and other contaminants from surfaces. The process involves heating water to a very high temperature, usually above 300°F, to create steam that is then directed onto the surface to be cleaned. The high temperature of the steam helps to break down and dissolve dirt and grime, while the pressure of the steam helps to lift the dirt from the surface. Super heated steam cleaning is often used in industrial settings to clean equipment, machinery, and other surfaces that are difficult to clean using traditional methods.

One of the main advantages of super heated steam cleaning is that it is a chemical-free cleaning method. Unlike traditional cleaning methods that rely on harsh chemicals to remove dirt and grime, super heated steam cleaning uses only water and heat, making it an environmentally-friendly option. Additionally, because the high temperature of the steam helps to kill bacteria and other pathogens, super heated steam cleaning can also help to sanitise surfaces and reduce the risk of contamination.

Overall, super heated steam cleaning is a powerful and versatile cleaning method that offers numerous benefits for a wide range of cleaning applications. Super heated steam cleaning is another recommended method for safe and effective brick cleaning that does not cause damage to the brickwork for brick cleaning companies to use.

APT Brick Cleaning Company – Case Studies

Building Restoration in South Wales for CADW

We were called in by CADW, Welsh Heritage to provide complete restoration and brick cleaning to the former Corus Steel Works located in South Wales. This prestigious building needed to be treated with complete sensitivity as it received a Grade II listing states and required a professional brick cleaning company. The outcome of the brick cleaning and property restoration was a complete transformation of the historical building. The clients were extremely pleased with the result of our soda blasting cleaning and are not able to host many functions and events at this prestigious site. We were thrilled to have received this testimonial:

“We employed the services of APT to renovate a Grade 2 Listed Building. Under the directive of Cadw we were not allowed to use any wet process or chemicals within the interior of the building. APT used Soda Blasting on sandstone, brick, ceramic glazed tiles, metal work, paintwork on ceilings, coving, woodwork and ornate fixtures. It was a great achievement to have one system for all the surfaces that needed cleaning and restoring and one that also ticked all the boxes of the environmental and conservation officers. The process saved us both time & money in being able to have just one company on site. We are very grateful to APT for their hard work on this project.”
