Client's Challenge
Hallmark Hotel & Spa in Gloucester required a specialist swimming pool cleaning solution to remove persistent calcium build-up affecting the pool deck and surrounding tiled surfaces. Over time, mineral deposits had hardened across key guest-facing areas, significantly impacting the visual standard of the poolside and creating an unwelcoming appearance.
As a high-end hospitality venue, maintaining immaculate presentation across leisure facilities is essential. The client required a professional contractor capable of removing heavy calcium scale without damaging tiled finishes, while restoring the pool environment to a clean, premium standard suitable for ongoing guest use.
Assessment & Planning

non-damaging cleaning method for tiled poolside surfaces.

Methodology
APT ICC delivered a staged restoration process designed specifically for
hardened calcium removal in sensitive poolside environments:
1. Protection of surrounding surfaces and controlled segregation of the working area to prevent overspray or residue transfer
2. Application of specialist cleaning methods to break down hardened calcium deposits on tiled surfaces
3. Controlled soda blasting used where appropriate to safely lift mineral build-up without aggressive abrasion
4. Support treatment using a diluted descaling agent to complete calcium removal and restore surface appearance
5. Final inspection, detailing, and presentation checks to confirm hospitality-grade finish standards
