APT were called in to assist at short notice to remove graffiti at Newport Castle, as we are known to Cadw for our specialist restoration, cleaning and repairs. They trust our knowledge and expertise as we have worked work on many sensitive historical buildings, monuments, commercial buildings and highway structures.
We met with Richard Turner, the senior conservation officer of Cadw and discussed our proposal and methodology to provide a complete holistic solution for removing the graffiti; this was approved and permission granted.
We used our innovative, specialist Soda Blasting system and our industry-trained and experienced technicians to sensitively remove the offensive graffiti without harming the substrate.
Health and safety are paramount to us and we provided full documentation, including method statements, risk assessments and COSHH assessments, Health and Safety Policy and Environmental Policy.
Richard and his team we so impressed at the capabilities of our specialist blasting system and our team of experts that he granted us authority to use the system on the Cadw sites throughout Wales, as and when required. Opus International Consultants, who were the Cadw consultants sent a memorandum to all its officers to confirm APT’s inclusion in any job specification where surface cleaning was required.
