The Roha Group (Roha UK Ltd) are one of the largest manufacturers of food colour and ingredients, serving huge names in the FMCG, Pharma and F&B. Roha Wales is a food production facility that required food factory cleaning, commercial deep cleaning, high level cleaning and sanitising of internal surfaces and machinery at their food ingredient manufacturing plant in Caldicot, South Wales. The work was required to meet the health and safety audit after commissioning new plant and equipment at their food production facility.
APT‘s team of experts met with the client to understand their remit and carried out a full cleaning survey of the food production areas within the food factory. We identified several key areas in need of attention in the food production facility, including high-level cleaning, commercial deep cleaning, stain removal, and cleaning of heavily soiled areas which were left dirty by the recent equipment installations.
After reviewing the findings within the food production factory, we recommended the most cost-effective options to cover all the commercial deep cleaning of equipment, the high-level cleaning and deep cleaning of the heavily soiled production machinery within the plant. Once we agreed on a health and safety plan and suitable work schedule to minimise disruption to production, our team of food production factory cleaners and high-level cleaners used our APT’s commercial cleaning equipment and specialist lift access platforms to carry out the high-level cleaning.
We also analysed current cleaning products used at Roha to establish if they were suitable for use within the food production factory as well as identifying if they were cost effective and efficient. We discussed our findings with the plant manager and suggested that they trial APT’s UltraClean MB, which is designed especially for cleaning within the food production industry.
We provided a comprehensive deep cleaning solution that covered all the areas within the food factory, including the high level cleaning.

Ultraclean MB was also used to degrease, disperse and remove the staining from wall and floor panels within the factory production areas. The stainless-steel panels had lime scale staining on them, so we used APT’s Phos Clean, an industrial food plant descaler, to remove this.
The outcome of the food production factory deep cleaning and high-level cleaning project was a huge success, with Roha achieving a Grade A in food hygiene standards. The work completed by our teams was carried within the timescale set by the client. A completion meeting was held with the plant managers at the food production factory where we proposed plans for future ongoing maintenance cleaning at the factory in South Wales.
