WAREHOUSE CLEANING & FLOOR CLEANING
Americhem Europe Ltd - Eccles, Manchester, M30
Client's Challenge
Americhem Europe Ltd required a professional warehouse and industrial floor cleaning contractor to address the build-up of dust and debris across production machine floor areas and warehouse zones within their chemical manufacturing facility.
Ongoing operations had resulted in accumulated contamination around machinery bases, walkways, and operational floor areas. While not affecting production output, the condition of these areas was impacting housekeeping standards, workplace safety, and general site presentation.
The client required a specialist cleaning provider capable of working safely
within live production and warehouse environments, delivering a controlled
deep clean without disrupting operations or introducing risk around equipment
and materials.
Assessment & Planning
APT ICC carried out a structured site assessment in consultation with site management to understand:
• Dust and debris accumulation levels across production and warehouse
zones
• Cleaning constraints around live machinery and operational walkways
• Floor types and suitable mechanical cleaning methods
• Areas requiring targeted degreasing versus general dust removal
• Safe sequencing to maintain access and minimise disruption
A phased cleaning plan was developed, prioritising dry dust removal first, followed by mechanical floor cleaning and targeted machinery cleaning, ensuring contamination was removed safely and efficiently.
Methodology
The warehouse and floor cleaning works were completed using a structured, low-disruption approach:
1. Initial dust and debris removal using industrial vacuum systems to safely lift loose contamination.
2. Manual sweeping of machine base and floor zones to remove remaining dry residues.
3. Controlled dusting and wipe-down of external production machinery surfaces.
4. Targeted degreasing and deep cleaning of a selected production machine where required.
5. Mechanical scrubber-dryer cleaning of surrounding floor areas, supported by manual detailing.
6. Final inspection to ensure floors and work zones were clean, safe, and operationally ready.
This approach ensured effective cleaning without introducing moisture or contamination risks to sensitive areas.
