Abingdon Flooring Ltd required urgent industrial cleaning and restoration works within a key production area of their carpet manufacturing facility.

The steel framework supporting essential spooling equipment had accumulated years of embedded dust residue and heavy grease contamination. This not only affected housekeeping and working conditions but also prevented the application of any protective coating or repainting works.

Alongside the cleaning requirement, the client requested a full commercial painting solution to restore the steelwork, protect it against corrosion, and improve the overall working environment.

All works needed to be delivered within a compressed timeframe to minimise production downtime and avoid disruption to manufacturing output.

    Methodology

    The works were delivered using a controlled,
    production-aware process:

    1. Removal and organised storage of spools to allow access to steel framework.

    2.Industrial cleaning and degreasing of steel structures to remove embedded dust and heavy grease contamination.

    3.Surface preparation to address wear and minor corrosion and ensure long-term paint adhesion.

    4. Application of an industrial-grade protective paint coating to restore appearance and protect the steelwork.

    5. Reinstatement of spooling equipment and final inspection prior to handover.

    This approach ensured both cleanliness and long-term protection while supporting uninterrupted production scheduling.
