FOOD FACTORY CLEANING & FLOOR CLEANING
Trigon Snacks Trading Ltd - Liverpool, L9
Client's Challenge
Trigon Snacks required a specialist commercial food factory cleaning contractor to support ongoing BRC and AIB audit readiness and continuous hygiene improvement at their Aintree manufacturing facility.
Internal inspections identified potential cross-contamination risks within key processing zones and highlighted areas that could not be safely accessed by in-house cleaning teams. Over time, hardened oils, grease, and burnt-on carbon deposits had accumulated on high-level structures and production equipment, particularly around hot oil frying and extraction systems.
The client required an accredited contractor capable of delivering a food-safe deep clean, working within a live production environment and with minimal disruption to operational schedules.
Assessment & Planning
APT ICC carried out a full on-site survey of the production areas
highlighted during internal audits, assessing contamination levels, access
challenges, and operational constraints.
Following the assessment, APT ICC provided:
• A cost-effective, audit-focused cleaning proposal
• A detailed health & safety plan and agreed working schedule
• Guidance on appropriate food-safe chemical selection for varying surface
types and contamination levels
• Improvement recommendations designed to reduce manual labour and enhance long-term cleaning effectiveness
This planning phase ensured the works aligned with audit requirements while integrating safely into the live production environment.
Methodology
APT ICC delivered a controlled, food-safe deep cleaning programme tailored to oil-heavy food manufacturing environments.
The methodology included:
1. Targeted high-level degreasing of structural steel, roof voids, pipework, ducting, and extraction systems.
2. Specialist decarbonising cleaning of hot oil frying equipment to remove heavy burnt-on residues.
3. Food-safe degreasing of production surfaces and inaccessible areas where contamination had built up over time.
4. Support cleaning carried out alongside Trigon’s hygiene team to ensure continuity and long-term maintenance improvements.
5. Introduction of improved cleaning routines and processes to reduce reliance on harsh chemicals and labour-intensive methods.
This approach delivered both immediate hygiene improvements and longer-term operational benefits.

Site Access & Logistics

Equipment
• Specialist high-level access equipment and site-specific safe working systems
• Steam cleaning methodology recommended for intricate and sensitive areas
